Lunch Discussion Groups


The Teaching Center invites you to participate in a Lunch Discussion. For reservation,contact Nanci Alsup at Ext. 5423 or by email at alsupn@mail.belmont.edu. The TC will provide a buffet lunch free of charge (but reservations are necessary).

Luncheon Discussions - Luncheons will be held in Beaman Student Life Center (Room A or B) unless otherwise indicated.  Please respond to the invitation that will come for each luncheon about one week in advance. 
Fall 2008

·         September 3:  12:00-1:30 – Citizenship, Faith and the Role of Faculty

(co-sponsored with Office of Spiritual Development), Dr.Tony Campolo, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Eastern University , will speak about the role of the faculty in creating classes, programs and in the end a university that lives out a uniquely Christian mission.

 – Capitalizing on the growing demographic changes in our community. What can Belmont do?

·         November 11:  A Question of Honor
Universities across the country are welcoming the brightest generation into their classrooms.  Accompanying the high accolades, the millennium generation encounters intense pressure to achieve and some students are resorting to cheating to attain their goals.  Within this luncheon, we will examine the national trends in academic dishonesty, resources to assist faculty in discovering and confronting incidents, and review Belmont University's Academic Honor Pledge.
