School Social Work Program

One of the distinctive characteristics of our department is the School Social Work component. School Social Work is unique in that Belmont is the only school in Middle Tennessee, and the only one of three state-wide, to offer the study of School Social Work that leads to licensure as a School Social Worker. It is only with this licensure that a person may work as a School Social Worker.

The School Social Work program is a joint program with the Department of Education. The student's curriculum is enhanced with complimentary courses in Education, additional study in School Social Work and a field placement as a School Social Worker.

Application for the license is made through the Department of Education to the State of Tennessee.
