Urban Outreach Teams focus on weekly ministry in Edgehill and beyond
Director of Outreach has trained leaders who oversee weekly ministries in Edgehill Community Garden, Edgehill Library, and citywide Mobile Loaves & Fishes serving 75 meals every day, 7 days a week.
- Conferences connect Belmont to Christian engagement with a variety of issues
C.S. Lewis Foundation Conference; Hands On Nashville Hispanic Immigration Conference; Christian Community Health Fellowship National Conference; Hope for Urban Youth bi-annual events for community leaders

College of Health Sciences on Native American Initiative; Communications Studies on Belmont~Daystar University Partnership; Deans Convocation Series entitled Faith-Informed Academics and launched new series with faculty, beginning with Faith-Informed Political Science and Faith-Informed Sociology; first PT/OT faculty-led trip to Guatemala
- Annual Faith and Psychology Conference in conjunction with Dept. of Psychology and College of Health Science
Inaugural conference with Dr. John Peteet, associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, co-sponsored by the Teaching Center, Psychology Dept., School of Nursing and Counseling Center.
- Sociology Class with American Baptist College at Riverbend Prison
Class began in spring 2008, with plans to expand to other disciplines

400+ students in weekly worship, prayer and Bible study
- Mission Trips and Christian Study Abroad opportunities over each break involve over 150 students, and now include a pre-freshman trip in collaboration with Student Affairs
- Belmont Service Year students began tutoring program at Edgehill Library, started working with the community on 2 plots in Edgehill community garden, had weekly events for Belmont students and neighbors at their home, and were matched with children through Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Weekly coaches’ fellowship
- Weekly training sessions for 60 student leaders of Faith Development organizations
- Tower Prayer Chapel used daily
- Worship services for Ash Wednesday, staff and student memorials, and Baccalaureate: A Service of Ordination to Daily Work
