Studying at Belmont

Let's face it -- no matter where you go to college, you're going to be spending a lot of time in the classroom. So how about going to a school where classroom experiences are not only enriching, engaging, and practical, but also fun!

Belmont's academic programs combine the best aspects of a liberal arts education with the skills you need to succeed after you graduate. And our academic requirements extend across multiple disciplines to help you lay the groundwork for an enriching life of reflection and responsible action. studying Take our Convocation requirement for example -- every undergraduate student is required to complete a broad array of seminars and experiences. Add to the mix our general  education requirements, which cover history, mathematics, physical education, literature, writing, and more, and you'll see that our approach to education is a holistic one.

Don't underestimate the importance of your professors. After all, their knowledge and perceptions will color much of the information you receive. You couldn't be learning from a better group of faculty than the ones we have here. We have more than 200 full-time faculty, and every one of them is committed to engaging students in enjoyable, rigorous classroom experiences, as well as independent research. Each spring, Belmont's Undergraduate Research Symposium (BURS) provided a forum for more than 100 students to present their own research.

All told, the education you receive from Belmont is a prescription for success. Belmont students who go on to graduate school are accepted into some of the most sought-after programs in the country, at places like Harvard, Vanderbilt, Princeton, William and Mary, and the University of Virginia. Students beginning careers enjoy a 90 percent placement rate in Nashville and around the country.
