All students are required to take this body of classes,  which includes courses in literature and language, the humanities, the fine arts, social sciences, science and mathematics, and health and wellness. The General Education program provides a common educational experience that is academically challenging and enriches students' understanding of themselves and the world around them. Each student's personal history and culture adds to the general education experience, bringing new perspectives and ideas to the classroom. Together, Belmont students work to establish a broad base of knowledge that encourages them to engage with the world around them and transform it with disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage, and faith.  |
