Dr. Hachtel recently completed her term as Tennessee’s delegate to the Representative Assembly (RA) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).  She is also a former Item Writer and member of the Certification Examination Validation Committee (CEVC) of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).  Dr. Hachtel is currently serving as the Vice President of the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA)  and as a Consultant to the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Practice Board.  Dr. Hachtel has presented at local, regional, national and international professional conferences.  Her areas of expertise are adult neurorehabilitation; psychosocial theory and practice; and ethics.  Her community involvement includes providing pro bono OT services to people who have had strokes and to men with a history of chronic homelessness and substance abuse.
