The Belmont University School of Occupational Therapy is pleased to host a panel discussion entitled "Why Kids Should Vote: Issues Affecting the Health and Education of Children". The panel discussion will take place on Friday, September 26, 2008 from 1:00-3:00pm in the Troutt Theater, located at 2100 Belmont Boulevard and Compton Avenue on the Belmont University campus. The event is free and open to the general public and professionals.
This panel will explore key legislative developments that impact children's health and education at both the state and federal levels. Panelists include advocates and practitioners from the fields of education, health care, and social work. Discussion topics will focus on how the 2008 elections might impact policies around children's issues in 2009 and beyond.
Belmont University will be hosting the 2008 Town Hall Presidential Debate on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. The debates are primarily intended for the television viewing audience. Pre-Registration
Professions who would like to receive continued competency credits are asked to complete the form below.
Legislative Panel Pre-Registration Form
Belmont University is approved by the Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy as a Continued Competence Activity Provider. At the conclusion of the event, occupational therapists who pre-register will receive documentation that they have completed 2 hours of continued competency credits for purposes of licensure renewal.
Other professionals who pre-register will also receive documentation that they have attended a 2 hour continuing education program. However, they are encouraged to check with their respective licensing/certification boards to determine their policies.
