Special Interest organizations at Belmont:

Amnesty International educates members of the Belmont community about worldwide human rights issues.

Belmont Ambassadors promotes the interests of and understanding among the Belmont students of the past, present, and future. It is made up of current students who want to further the quality of the university as an institution of higher education and continue pride, loyalty, and tradition. Membership is based on an application process.

Belmont Animal Rights Coalition uses our intelligence and power as compassionate human beings in a manner that promotes awareness and support for animal rights and welfare.

Belmont Coalition Against Genocide is a part of the worldwide anti-genocide movement. Our purposes include: promoting education about genocide � its definition, causes, methods, consequences; study of past cases of genocide; promoting awareness of current crises that can evolve into genocide; promoting awareness of ongoing cases of genocide; supporting efforts to prevent genocide, to extend humanitarian aid to regions troubled by genocidal activity, to encourage the international community to take action to stop ongoing acts of genocide and bring the perpetrators of genocide to justice. We will work with other organizations through the Belmont and broader Nashville community in order to fulfill these purposes.

Belmont Democrats pledges itself to promote social and cultural progress through affiliation with the Democratic Party.

Belmont Equestrian Club provides opportunities for students to grow in their knowledge of horsemanship skills, aid the community with weekly service projects, and promote fellowship within the community.

Belmont Ice Hockey Club : The ice hockey club is open to those who are interested in playing ice hockey. All who are interested are invited to join.

Black Student Association promotes cultural awareness through campus events and forums. BSA is open to students of all races and strives to reach out to the Nashville community through service work.

Collegiate Republicans dedicates itself to furthering the ideas, principles, and policies set forth by the Republican Party.

Dance Team The Belmont University Dance Team is composed of 20 dancers who perform at Belmont men's and women?s basketball games as well as other athletic and university events. Their purpose is to support Belmont athletics and to encourage enthusiasm and spirit for Belmont.

International Student Association promotes fellowship, helps international students adjust to university life, and promotes international understanding.

Motivational Organization of Belmont 'The MOB' was created to encourage outright super fandom and intimidation of opponents at Belmont Bruins athletic events. We provide the opportunity for social interaction as well as electronic networking through news, e-mails, and correspondence. We also value the understanding of game rules, regulations, and tradition. 'The MOB' is open to all students. Visit the M.O.B. at http://www.bruinmob.com

Our Natural Environment (O.N.E.) provides students with opportunities to learn about and discuss current environmental issues and to become actively involved in solutions to environmental problems. The view of this organization coincides with the Christian view that we are stewards of the earth and are responsible for protecting and preserving the earth.

Students for the Advancement of Gender Equality is open to the campus community. SAGE explores gender issues, promotes gender equality, and spreads ideas to the Belmont community

Student Athlete Advisory Committee is a council made up of student-athletes from each athletic team. The representative is recommended by their coach based on leadership skills. The student-athlete must have at least a 2.5 GPA.

Ultimate Frisbee Club gives students a chance to learn to play ona competitive Frisbee team. The mission of this club is to have fun and to learn to play competitively as a team.

The Voice is Belmont University's campus radio station, featuring an eclectic blend of music, news/talk, and Belmont Bruins sports. An eclectic blend of music? Yes! But the common denominator is the Belmont connection. Every song we play is either performed, written, or produced by Belmont students, faculty, or alumni.
