Kristi Whitten

Kristi Whitten Dr. Kristi Whitten, Associate Professor of Voice, joined Belmont University School of Music as performing faculty in the fall of 2001. Dr. Whitten also serves as Director of the Belmont Opera Theatre.

Dr. Whitten earned both her Doctor of Music and Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Music at Belmont University. As a performer, she has appeared with several opera groups, including the Asheville Lyric Opera and the ARDO opera of Bloomington, Indiana. At Indiana University, Dr. Whitten appeared in such roles as Pamina in The Magic Flute, Silvia in Haydn's L'isola Disabitata, and Isifile in Cavalli's Il Giasone. Other roles include Venus in John Blow's Venus and Adonis, Micaela in Carmen, Norina in Don Pasquale and Nanetta in Falstaff.
