Roberta Rodgers


Roberta Rodgers Roberta Rodgers is an adjunct instructor at Belmont University and has been a part of the faculty since 1999. She is currently teaching Elementary Music Methods and the music portion of Arts for the Educator.

Ms. Rodgers received a Master of Music Education from Belmont and a Bachelor of Music Education from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to teaching adjunct at Belmont, Ms. Rodgers gained experience teaching at Harding Academy in Nashville, TN and in the Metro Nashville Public School system for nine years.  She is presently the music specialist at Glendale Elementary Spanish Immersion School.  She has also been a choral director at St. Bernard High School and begins her fourteenth year directing one of the choirs for the Nashville Children's Choir.  Ms. Rodgers has levels of certification in both Orff and Kodaly methodology and has over twelve years experience as a private piano instructor. She has been on numerous committees, including an advisory board for The Country Music Hall of Fame and A Curriculum Development Committee for Metro Nashville Schools and Alternate for the Music Textbook Adoption Committee. Ms. Rodgers has served as a clinician for Tennessee Association of Independent Schools, Tennessee Music Educators Association, and The Methodist Church National Jubilee Convention, and as a moderator at numerous conventions including the National Orff and Kodaly conventions. As a guest director, Ms. Rodgers has worked with choirs at Lake Junaluska Music Conference, Camp Quarternote in Biloxi, Mississippi, for the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association, and the Northern Conference of Choristers Guild.

Ms. Rodgers has been a member of the Middle Tennessee Elementary Music Educators; President 1991-1994, Middle Tennessee Vocal Association; Elementary Chairperson 1991-1994, Tennessee Music Educators Association; Board Member 1991-1994, Music Educators National Conference, Organization of American Kodaly Educators and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
