Ginger Newman
Ginger Newman is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at the Belmont University School of Music. She has been a vocal coach for musical theatre students since 2004.
Ms. Newman has an extensive background in voice and musical theatre. Some of her performance credits include: featured soloist for various Nashville Symphony concerts, an original cast member for A Country Christmas (Opryland Hotel) and The Evening is Yours (General Jackson Showboat), Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel (Nashville Opera), Home for the Holidays (Fiesta Texas), Mabel in Pirates of Penzance (Tennessee Repertory Theatre), Christmas Memories (Tennessee Repertory Theatre), Eva Peron in Evita (Tennessee Repertory Theatre), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (World Premiere by Tennessee Repertory Theatre) and numerous other Broadway musicals.
Ms. Newman began her teaching career as a Teaching Artist with the Nashville Institute for the Arts. She has also taught Music, Theatre, Dance and Visual Art at Murfreesboro Academy of Music and Drama (TN) and in Tennessee public schools. Other teaching areas have included Voice and Interpretation (Centerstage for the Performing Arts ,TN), and private and group voice classes (Stageworks, TN). Currently, Ms. Newman teaches and directs Creative Dramatics, Theatre Scenes and Games, and Musical Theatre at Stageworks Summer Camps for young children.
