Sara Johnson


Sara Johnson is an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Music. Ms. Johnson teaches String Methods.

Ms. Johnson received her Master of Arts in Viola from the University of Iowa, and her Bachelor of Science in Music Performance, Viola, from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also completed her 'Master's Plus 30' certification, Suzuki Teacher Training and teacher certification coursework.

Currently, Ms. Johnson performs as violist and leader for the Centennial String Quartet and violinist/violist with Trevecca Symphony Orchestra. She teaches Strings and is the Orchestra teacher with Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Public Schools, and Adjunct Artist Teacher of Suzuki Violin at Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.

Ms. Johnson's professional affiliations in American String Teachers Association with National School Orchestra Association (past Tennessee Chapter President), MENC, TMEA, and Suzuki Association of America. She was been awarded Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers five times and an Outstanding Teacher Award from Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts.
