"Belmont's School of Music had what I was searching for to satisfy all of my needs and desires for a music school. The instructors are informed, renowned performers with cutting-edge teaching ideas that produce incredible results. When I came and visited some of the classes, I was impressed by the output of the teachers and the way the instructors were genuinely concerned about the status of their students' education. I was also impressed by the numerous concerts and activities supported by the school. Between the showcases, musical theater shows, student and faculty recitals, opera theatre productions and even more performances, there is never a dull moment for a music student!
Every week there are many opportunities for us to see quality performances and experience time on the stage for ourselves. There is ample training and preparation of the skills needed to become a performer. However, I believe the most important reason I chose Belmont was because of the atmosphere of not just the music school but also throughout the whole university. Belmont is a school that encourages not only growing mentally, physically and socially but also spiritually. Because of this incredible goal and emphasis, Belmont becomes a refuge and place that is open to learning at all levels. Although many music organizations seek to discourage their members, the faculty and staff of Belmont exist for building up the student in more than just academics. Mainly I knew that I could go anywhere in the world for music and academics, but it is rare to find a wonderful school with such an uplifting and inviting environment."
