I chose Belmont University because I wanted a great education with the convenience of a city campus that is easily accessible (I live off-campus and am a nontraditional student). Belmont is great for nontraditional students, because it allows you to still be involved, even if you are not in a dorm or surrounded by your peers all the time. Class sizes are small, and you receive great one-on-one attention from professors. The knowledge and diversity of the faculty are amazing. They're always very eager to help you with what ever you need, and they want to see you succeed.

Belmont's New Century Journalism program presents an amazing opportunity for students seeking to get the best education they can in the field. My love and passion for the media, brought me to the journalism major, and being one of the first students through the new program is exciting. The opportunities and speakers we have, and the resources that Belmont has given us make me feel like I am steps beyond students from other programs. I also consider it important that the journalism practicum focuses on writing, above all other things, because no matter what field of journalism you go into, being a good writer is the most important thing.
