My experience in the New Century Journalism Program has been amazing! From day one, the professors have you working as a reporter, covering stories on and off Belmont's campus. I have been fortunate to work at The Vision, Belmont's student newspaper and The Voice, the campus radio station. Those are two opportunities that have allowed me to practice what I learn in the classroom.

Dr. Sybril Bennett has brought in incredible speakers. We have heard from professionals working in broadcast, print, and online journalism.

The opportunities that we have are beyond belief. In April, Dr. Bennett, a fellow classmate, and myself are going to the Radio and Television News Directors Association convention at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas. We will work as volunteers, attend conferences, and go to the award ceremony honoring Ted Koppel. Oprah is also going to be there!

The Journalism program here is unique. By the time we graduate, we will be able to work across all three media platforms. I think Belmont will soon be highly recognized for it's New Century Journalism Program. So far, it's been better than I could have imagined!
