Entering the US

Please note that even if you have already received your F-1 or J-1 visa, you are not allowed to enter the U.S. until 30 days before the beginning date of your program.

Setting up a BIC Account

Once a student has been admitted, they should create a BIC (Belmont Intranet Connection) Account. This will allow them to do many things including register for classes online, view their account, view the campus calendar and check their campus e-mail. Registering for Classes Online

Please note that you must have clearance from your academic advisor in order to register. International students should contact the International Advisor in the Rasmussen Center for International Education, internationaled@mail.belmont.edu.

Transportation to Campus

Unfortunately, public transportation from the airport to campus is rather limited. To see if it might fit your travel plans, please check the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) website, www.nashvillemta.org.

Most students find it easier to take a taxi or private shuttle service. Information about transportation from the airport can be found at www.flynashville.com/ground_trans/default.cfm

Bruin Guide Student Handbook

All Belmont students are required to abide by rules and procedures outlined in the Bruin Guide. Please take time to become familiar with it. You will find it helpful in answering many of your questions.

Housing

F-1, degree seeking students will go through the same housing procedures as any other full time student. Please contact the Office of Residence Life directly with any inquiries you may have.

J-1, exchange students should download the form below, fill it in online (it is also a PDF fillable form), save it and attach it to an e-mail to internationaled@mail.belmont.edu.

Exchange Student Housing Application

We are only able to provide on-campus housing to single, undergraduate students. Married students and graduate students will have to find their own accommodations. Our office and the Office of Residence Life can provide assistance if needed.

Meals

F-1, degree seeking students will go through the same procedures for setting up a meal plan as any other full time student. Please contact the Office of Residence Life directly with any inquiries you may have.

J-1, exchange students living in residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan with a minimum of 10 meals/week. Students living in a campus apartment with a kitchen are encouraged to purchase at least a 5 meal/week plan.
