Belmont's 'Engaged Scholars' program
promotes and recognizes our undergraduate students'
participation in forms of academic development that extend beyond
the traditional classroom.
Would you like to be recognized for the learning that you do
outside the classroom?
An Engaged Scholar is recognized for meeting a series of activities and for achieving specified levels of attainment -- some curricular and some co-curricular -- that substantially involves her/him in serious experiential learning and/or promotes greater self-ownership of her/his learning experiences. In other words, the program promotes two distinct but not mutually exclusive goals:
1) recognition of students who achieve a heightened level of educational participation well above the traditional classroom expectations; and
2) encouragement of additional intentional learning experiences through students' conscious engagement and reflection with the goals of the Engaged Scholars program.
