Mission:

The mission of the College of Business Administration is to be an innovative learning center of distinction characterized by active learning and scholarly exploration, based on:

  • Christian values.

Goals:

The College of Business Administration has the following goals:

  1. Provide a personalized, career-oriented and practical educational program in Business Administration which emphasizes the four themes of leadership, innovation, private enterprise and entrepreneurship.
  2. Equip students with the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, accept responsibility, make effective decisions, and operate in diverse work environments.
  3. Emphasize quality classroom instruction within the parameters of Christian and ethical principles.

The College of Business Administration offers the following programs for undergraduate students:

  1. The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in Business Administration and a concentration in one of the following:
  2. Accounting
    Business Administration
    Economics
    Finance
    Health Care Management
    Hospitality, Travel and Tourism
    Information Systems Management
    Management
    Marketing
    Music Business

  3. The BBA curriculum gives the student a minor in Business Administration in addition to the area of concentration.

  4. A Minor Field program requiring eighteen hours in directed business subjects.

  5. In general, the accounting curriculum prepares a student for the professional accounting examinations. However, the CPA examination in Tennessee requires 150 semester hours. Undergraduate accounting majors may enroll in the 152-hour accounting program that provides both a B.B.A. and Master of Accountancy degrees. Students interested in the 152-hour program and preparing for the CPA examination should consult with a member of the accounting faculty to ensure they meet the new requirements.
