Frank and Margaret Leu Visual Arts Scholarships
The Leu Scholarship Award
The generous support of Margaret and Franklin Leu made possible the construction of the Leu Center for the Visual Arts at Belmont University, and the creation of an endowed scholarship fund in honor of their son Franklin Russell Leu III. The scholarships are awarded annually to four promising first-year students. Each scholarship winner is awarded $2000 for four years for a total of $8,000.

After all materials (application and portfolio) have been received and reviewed, you will be invited to visit campus for an interview with members of the Art Department faculty. For this interview you must bring a suitable variety of works that illustrate your ability in art and/or design and be prepared to converse with the committee for approximately 30 minutes. The final award decisions are made by a committee of Art Department faculty the week after the interviews, and notification of the awards by the office of Admissions will follow by the middle of February, 2008.
Deadlines for 2007
December 1, 2007: All application materials, submitted to the Chair/Art Department and Office of Admissions.
January 26, 2008: Academic Options Day: Students are interviewed by Art Department faculty.
February 11, 2008: Faculty committee makes final decisions for the scholarship recipients. The Admissions Office is notified of the recipients.
February 12-16, 2008: Admissions Office includes Leu Scholarship award announcement in the financial package award notification to scholarship winners . The Art department notifies all finalists as to their status in the awards process and will send certificates to the winners.
